Heavy bag weight

Hi,

What would be the best weight and heavy bag type for kick boxing/ muay thai? With the right technique, does the size really matter?
Also, do you recommend to fill the bag ourselves ?

Hey Nic. I’d say the heavier the better. Light bags flop around too much.

Also depends on how you have it hanging. I’d prefer a swing if possible too. But I know with home bag and stands you can’t get too picky lol

Im certainly no expert on the matter, but I think it’s just a matter of preference and how you want to use. I personally like the on the heavier side, but that isn’t to say lighter ones don’t have benefits. I have a 150lb Thai bag that I love, but I also love like 80lb boxing style bags, you can get them swinging a bit which forces you to move out of the way like it’s an opponent.
