I'm left hand dominant however I'm a bit of an oddball. I throw left handed but bat right handed. I grew up shooting basketball left handed however in my older age I actually like shooting right handed. Over time I think I've grown to be more ambidextrous.
For stances I actually like orthodox over southpaw but the power of the cross suffers for it. On the other hand I like having unexpected power in my left jab or left hook.
I practice both stances but I'm curious if I shouldn't favor south paw over orthodox because my left does have more power.
Thoughts?
Hey Tim
Good question! I think as a real beginner, trying to focus with one side is best. As you get more experienced, Its definitely a good idea to practice both stances, and understanding how to set up your power from the different sides.
I will have more videos in the future showing some stance switches, like backstop attacking and shifting!
